In Bangladesh there was a Factory collapse. A Canadian company, Loblaw, which had some of its clothing lines made in that factory promised to assure help and support for the families of the workers of the factory. Loblaw will provide help now and in the future for the families of the workers. Their priorities are driving change to help prevent similar incidents in the future. The announcement by Loblaw follows a similar move by UK retailer Primark which pledged to provide long term aid for children who lost parents, financial pay for the injured. This disaster will force western companies to reconsider business in Bangladesh
My opinion :
It is a very sad thing that this disaster took place, I dearly grieve for the poor lives which have been lost, furthermore goes my grief to the infants who now will have to lead a parentless life and take care of themselves. I think it is a very humane and responsible thing that Loblaw and Primark are doing by aiding, supporting and funding the victims as well as the families who financially depended on the workers in the factory. But this does not make up for the fact that these factory buildings are built with poor attention and neglect to safety and quality just because they could build them easier by reducing the costs.
