A G8 meeting is being hold
in Northern Ireland, Obama and Putin both push for Syria summit. Both the US as
well as Russian presidents have acknowledged at the G8 meeting in Northern
Ireland that they have a different stance on Syria, but agreed to push for a
summit at Geneva. Both of the presidents also mentioned that they were positive
about the newly elected Iranian president, and that they have an optimistic
view for its future. But despite having different stances towards Syria, they
both said that they were on common grounds when it came down to putting a
peaceful end to the war.
My opinion:
I am very happy to hear this news. I hope that for all the most important
issues in the world, in the future, they will be holding grand scale meetings
like this in order to work out international problems like this one. Of course
one could already foresee that the Russian and the US president would take on
different stances on their opinion about Syria. But what really lift my
concerns was that both of the presidents want to end the war and the men
slaughter on both sides. I'm glad they want to come with a peaceful solution
